Sign up to my newsletter!Dougie K Powell is a British comedian and author, based in Helsinki, Finland, known for their observational, autobiographical and empathetic comedy style. In 2021 they wrote and performed their solo show Gothic Ray of Sunshine at Loukko, Helsinki. Their second solo show Consider Your Options ran at NoName Theatre during April and May 2026. CYO addressed themes of faith, integration into Finland and the serious issues within the Finnish adoption systems.
Alongside comedy, Dougie has published journalist articles on various gaming websites, mainly focusing on feminism and LGBTQIA+ representation in gaming culture. Their debut novel My Best Rival is was published in late 2023 by Spectrum Books. A sequel, The Grown Ups, was published in 2025.
