Aatu Raitala and Jamie MacDonald take over Espan lava with Kaisa Pylkkänen and Dougie K Powell.
Aatu Raitala and Jamie MacDonald have hosted Cafe Mascot’s legendary English language stand-up club for nearly a decade, and now they’re taking over Espan lava with a bunch of friends.
Aatu is also the host of Takakeno stand-up club, appears very relaxed and witty on Finnish TV, and is everyone’s dad with a Lappeenranta accent. Jamie’s a Canadian import who co-hosts theatre’s current obsession Punch Up! -Resistance and Glitter, and takes queerness wherever he goes.
Every show has a fresh lineup, with some of Helsinki’s best comics headlining. Most shows are in English with a few in Finnish.
Award winning comedian Kaisa Pylkkänen has been doing gigs in Finnish and English since 2010 everywhere in Finland as well as in Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, Berlin, London, Liverpool, Stockholm, Tallinn, Prague, Tarto and Turku. She was voted Comedian of the year in March 2020 by her peers, and her first solo show No Penis, No Knowledge has played to sold out audiences both in Finnish and English.
